Great Venue for Events

Monterrey is the capital of the State of Nuevo Leon and a city with a privileged geographical location very close to the US border with Texas. The city stands out for multiple reasons: ideal place to do business, entrepreneur-oriented culture, higher education institutions and a top level healthcare and medical center.

The city also has much to offer, cultural and entertainment wise, and it has extraordinary infrastructure for congresses and conventions:

  • Monterrey’s International Airport is considered the most important connection hub in the North of Mexico.
  • An average of 206 daily flights, travelling to and from more than 30 destinations in Mexico, the US and Central America.
  • Two big convention centers: Cintermex (60,302 square feet for exhibitions and 25,920 square feet for conventions) and Convex (17,390 square feet for exhibitions and 21,030 square feet for conventions).
  • Spaces for unique events which makes them unforgettable.
  • 12,000 rooms in 100 hotels with competitive prices for all budgets.
  • Wide range of suppliers providing quality services.
  • Tons of amusement and entertainment options like never before.

In 2011, Monterrey hosted 131 events organized and managed by the Conventions and Visitors Office. No reports whatsoever where filed about difficulties experienced by tourists while at the event or touring the city.

World Class events have been successfully carried out in the city, and others are booked on a day–to–day basis, such as:

Aside from just numbers, what really makes the city attractive is the testimony of the people. “We received extraordinary support regarding the promotion and strategy of our event.  We increased attendance by 30% compared to last year.  Exhibitors and speakers continue believing Monterrey is a prosperous city and the industrial capital of Mexico”.  Jorge Arizmendi, 2011 Plastic Expo manager, event that took place from February 22 – 24, 2011.  Hector Elizondo, President of the Organizing Committee of the Meat Expo 2011, event that took in February 2 – 4, said: “We are so grateful for the marketing support, which resulted in a 10% registration prior to the event.  We had a total attendance of 5 thousand visitors specializing in the meat industry.”
